Direct production of steam at the focus of the parabolic trough.

The innovation

The Solarlite technology provides basic technological innovations: it produces the steam directly. Traditional parabolic collectors use a heat transfer fluid, such as oil. Steam is then produced in a second step through a heat exchanger using the heated oil. The direct steam production of the Solarlite collectors is more efficient and less costly.

The construction of the panels is based on a combination of stiff and very lightweight material (composite epoxies and glass). A highly efficient aluminium layer provides a reflection coefficient of up to 88%. The decoupling of the steel structure from the mirror system enables modular and economic installation and minimises any complexity. The possibility of uncomplicated exchange of individual elements simplifies the maintenance process of the system and improves the expected service life.
